Truth About Nutrition |
Fad diets are a joke and every body is different, requiring different amounts and variations of nutrients. There is no one size fits all when it comes to nutritional needs. My goal as a trainer and nutrition coach is to redirect old ways of thinking about weight loss to fat loss. The more we feed our muscles, the more fat we burn. We must eat nutritiously to accomplish this, in the quantities our individual body requires according to the lean mass we have.
The same is true for someone trying to gain lean muscle. A smaller individual could not hold the quantities of food of a seasoned bodybuilder. Therefore tailoring dietary needs by increasing nutrients periodically in conjunction with the increasing lean muscle mass only makes sense. |
Truth About Training |
Resistance training is key to muscle retention and growth. Muscles burn fat as they require more energy to sustain daily. Men have an advantage over women when it comes to the visible results of resistance training, as women's bodies are completely different. Women only have 5-7% of the testosterone of a male and only 34% muscle mass compared to a man's 43%. Therefore weight training will not make women "bulky". Weight training with the right focus however will grant a very nicely shaped figure.
